Yet ANOTHER Way to Use Cold Medicine that's not for Meth!

You know that catchy cough syrup commercial that always ends with

"The sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever so you can REST medicine...?"

Well, I think I may have added a new symptom to that list of maladies that the gross ole thick stuff can cure: domicile breach. No, it's not the criminal kind -- you need the police for that! It's the kind of infringement on your home where the outside world creeps its way into your comfort zone and won't let go, taking hold of your every thought until you can no longer...just...REST.

Basement Case

The clock on the wall says it's after 4, and since I can hear my mom moving around upstairs cooking something meaty-smelling, I guess it's PM. I just had to write this down that it made me laugh right off the couch cuz the clock on the wall is one of Batman I got for, like, my 4th birthday, and the needle stretching outta his crotch telling me what hour it is looks like he's going flaccid, like he just saw a picture of his grandmother. That's classic.

CHAPTER 1
A Brief History of Creepfest. Also, How Jason's Salsa-drenched Gas Station Pickle Mash Convinced Us We Could Be on TV.
For the first time, Vince and I were in agreement about the show. Even Jason seemed to be happy, and he was never pleased about anything he helped create. Permanent Vacation

Every time I think about scrubbing routine, I think about the end of

"The Graduate"

Here's a guy, Ben, who has always played the straight and narrow, done everything in life he had planned up to the end of college. And then, he scrubs routine.

Most everyone wants to change course, and each for his own reasons.Ben does it for a woman -- well, if you want to get technical, two women. But it's the daughter, Elaine Robinson, he really wants. And as he steals her away from the arranged wedding in Santa Barbara, the two hop a bus and plop down in back with unchecked daffiness.
Hey, baby.
Next, the impulse is over and they've gotten what they wanted, their smiles wither. Endorphins settle. As Simon and Garfunkle swell and the credits roll, you can see Ben and Elaine thinking the same thing: what now, then?
So...you wanna grab some dinner?
You may have a different read on it, but I think the answer is pretty clear: they regret. For Ben and Elaine, they realize the feeling that most of us fear when we consider scrubbing our routine for something that might just turn out to be a flash-in-the-pan impulse. They sit on that bus, and they regret.
